Well, we had some more "parenting" experiences without having kids. Sometimes, parents are willing to let us "help", just so we don't miss out on the experiences. In this case, someone allowed their cub scout (and his sister) to come over for help. It was pretty cool. He listened to instructions, and followed through.
We taught him how to use a drill press and a file (for axles), a bandsaw (cutting out the primary shape), and a sander. We talked about designs, weight, and friction.
He was awesome, and he did the actual work. (I wanted it to be HIS car.) He did pretty good on it, had first place in a race. Later, we received a couple of thank you cards - and they are awesome! Thanks, guys!
